Designer and educator Scott Klinker spoke at the Vignelli Center for Design Studies this Wednesday, April 6, as part of the Design Conversations lecture series. Scott Klinker has been a 3D designer-in-residence at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI since 2001 and is principal of Scott Klinker Product Design. His talk, “Design/Art/Craft: New Research at Cranbrook” explored the current state of design culture and its manifestation at Cranbrook. On Thursday, IT hosted a roundtable at which he discussed the design exploration that led to the development of the Trellis tray for Alessi. Design Conversations lecture series serves to create dialogue and discourse by providing invaluable insight from design professionals.
