This past Tuesday, November 18th, Kikkerland and Bed Bath & Beyond joined the RIT Industrial Design department in the University Gallery to announce this year’s Metaproject winners! Barbara Weston, Director of Product Design for Bed Bath & Beyond, Jan van der Lande, Founder/President of Kikkerland, and Perrine Giacomazzo, Director of Global Marketing at Kikkerland were all present for the announcement.

After a significant amount of hard work and fantastic output from all of the RIT students involved, the much anticipated results were as follows:

Academic Winner: Linda Deng, Clock Cabinet
Honorable Mention: Brian Keyes, Hanging Facades
Honorable Mention: Audrey Kirk, Wall Pockets
Production Winner: Linda Deng, Wheel
People’s Choice: Audrey Kirk, Wall Pockets

Linda Deng’s product, Wheel, has been selected to go into production by Kikkerland and sold in Bed Bath & Beyond stores. In addition, it is with much pride that we mention that among the three schools involved in this year’s Design Project, Audrey Kirk won the People’s Choice award with 1,967 of the 6,200 online votes!

All projects will now be brought to their level and displayed in May during design week in New York City. Congratulations to all the winners and all of the students involved with this year’s Metaproject!
