April 5th marked the first time a TEDxFulbright conference was held in the US. Licensed by TED to highlight the vision of the Fulbright Program for international understanding and proactive community engagement, TEDxFulbright was a one-day interdisciplinary conference for Fulbright alumni and internationally minded members of the public, guided by the theme ‘Dare to Think.’
First year Graduate Student Guillermo Fok was among the team of Fulbright scholars and alumni organizing the event, which covered topics from Teaching life skills to kids in Rwanda through dance to developing a drone transporting network to deliver goods and medication to impoverished communities. Over 400 attendees witnessed the event at the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.
