Design Week 2013 is New York City’s inaugural citywide event to showcase and promote design of all disciplines. Held from Friday, May 10, through Tuesday, May 21, the event will celebrate New York City’s contributions to and embrace of design. The premiere event held at the Jacob Javits Center is the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF). This year RIT has several students and faculty introducing work to the design community and world. Take a look at the many events happening over the course of the week and make a plan to visit / support RIT Industrial Design.

RIT at Lazzoni Celebration

Josh Owen exhibit at Wanted Design
Josh Owen, Department Chair and Associate Professor of RIT ID, will be featured in the exhibit titled “Risk and Certainty in Uncertain Times” curated by John Maeda, President of the Rhode Island School of Design. Several of Owen’s products from his private studio are on display to demonstrates how RISD students transform their educational experience into successful professional practices.
