Congratulations to ID Graduate students Cong Yao and JongSoo Gang, who were awarded $2000 in the NYS Pollution Prevention Institute 2nd Annual Student Competition. They are working on a project led by Assistant Professor Alex Lobos, that is looking to minimize RIT-ID’s carbon footprint, by exploring more efficient and environmentally-friendly materials and methods for design education. Cong and JongSoo will present their project on April 24, 2013 in Albany, NY at the G2C Go Green on Campus competition ceremony.

The NYSP2I R&D Student Competition provides an ideal opportunity for undergraduate and/or graduate level student teams to research, develop, and design solutions to real world environmental challenges. The competition promotes creative thinking, problem solving, team work, and collaboration across disciplines. Student teams selected to participate in the competition will present their projects to environmental experts, gain insight from established professionals, and receive recognition by potential future employers.
