College of Imaging Arts and Sciences Dean, Lorraine Justice was recently featured in an advertisement in the New York Times on Friday, October 12th. Lorraine was selected as one of the World’s Leading Designers & Design Book Authors that will be speaking at Designers & Book Fair 2012. The Designer & Book Fair will be held on October 26 – 28 at FIT Conference Center in New York City. Lorraine Justice will lecture about “Chinese Design Culture Now” along side several other distinguished speakers on Saturday, October 27th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.
The weekend-long event celebrates the intersection of design, architecture, and books – featuring 17 programs with noted design world personalities, publisher selling newly released design books, authors signings, and book arts demonstrations.
At RIT, we believe that industrial design education lies at the nexus of theory, process and practice. Industrial design is a human-centered discipline which requires an understanding of the complex relationships between culture and commerce. Our varied and experienced faculty expose our students to the history, context and state of the art while imparting the skills necessary to compete as contemporary designers.
