The Battery Conservancy Americas Design Competition 2012, has an open call for students and professionals in the Americas (North, Central, South, and the Caribbean) to design an iconic, movable outdoor seating element. The winning design will be fabricated for use in The Battery, the 25-acre park at the tip of Manhattan, which annually welcomes six million visitors.
REGISTRATION OPENS JULY 31, 2012.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE OCTOBER 30, 2012.
Prizes:
$50,000 prize fund will be awarded.
Top Designs: Curated selection of Top Designs featured on The Battery Conservancy competition website and on exhibition banners located in the park. Selected designs will be credited to the designers, their affiliation, city, country, and website.
Finalists: Finalists receive $ awards to develop full-scale prototypes. The Battery Conservancy has been invited by Design Miami to exhibit the prototypes.
Winner: Winner will be awarded a $ Grand Prize and we intend to fabricate the winning design for use in The Battery. The winning design will receive international media coverage.
